Dr. Cabell was born on November 11, 1947 in Jackson, Mississippi to Mr. and Mrs. James Franklin Cabell.  He attended Murrah High School graduating in 1965 and received his B. S. degree from Millsaps College in June, 1969.  He went on to attend the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson receiving his Medical Degree on May 27, 1973.

Dr. Cabell's interest and commitment to martial arts was sparked one day when his wife, Christina , asked if he would like to join her and daughter, Anna Catherine in attending a class.  He began training in Hapkido and Tae Kwon Do at Master J.R. West's Hapkido Academy in Ridgeland, Mississippi.  In 1997 when Master Wickersham and Master Jimmy Busby started Sunbi Martial Arts in Madison, Mississippi, he moved to their school.  He faithfully goes to class twice a week as well as seminars and tournaments as they arise.  Dr. Cabell now holds a 3rd Dan in Hapkido, a 3rd Dan in Tae Kwon Do, and a 3rd Dan in Han Mu Do.

After practicing emergency room medicine in Jackson, Mississippi and family medicine in Forest, Mississippi, he did a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and Hospital finishing in 1982.  He has been in practice in Jackson for over 24 years.

Dr. Cabell and his wife, Christina Koch Cabell are the proud parents of a blended family consisting of five sons and three daughters of which all but one are married.  They currently have eight grandchildren; five grandsons, three granddaughters and number nine on the way!
